NUTWOOD VISITOR PARKING LOT 10/2009

The South Campus Drive (Nutwood) parking lot has beenreconfigured to accommodate a new drop-off / pick-up turnaround at the Langsdorf fountain and plaza area. The parking lot provides assigned parking for campus administration and a short term parking area for campus visitors. The project supports the newly configured campus entry at Folino Drive and the completed widening on Nutwood Avenue.

University Police Building


UNIVERSITY POLICE FACILITY - 8/2009

The University Police project consists of a new Police Facility building of approximately 10,470 GSF. The new University Police Facility includes administrative offices, a dispatch center, front counter/records area, lobby, live scan area, an Emergency Operations Center, conference/briefing rooms, evidence storage, holding/processing area, armory safety equipment room and locker/shower/toilet facilities. The scope of work also includes miscellaneous site improvement. The new building will be located along State College Blvd., west of Parking Structure #2, per the campus master plan.

STUDENT RECREATION CENTER 6/2008

The new Student Recreation Center serves as the campus’ primary destination for university community members to partake in personal fitness training, group fitness classes, intramural sports programs and other activities that act as magnets for student social life. The Center will promote a sense of campus community and energy, and serve as a representation of the campus’ commitment to providing students with the highest quality of co-curricular experiences. The facility will consist of approximately 95,000 gross square feet.

STEVEN G. MIHAYLO HALL 7/2008

The new College of Business & Economics building consist of 195,000 gross square feet of space. The building provides lecture halls, classrooms, a smart classroom, break out rooms, computer labs, and a networking lab with seating for 35 to 250 students. Office space will be provided for the Centers of Excellence, Faculty, Staff, and a new Dean’s suite with space to support student services.

Nursing Skills Lab

NURSING SKILLS LAB 7/2007

The Nursing Skills laboratory project remodeled approximately 5,000 square feet in the Kinesiology and Health Science building. The nursing skills lab includes a simulator skills lab, patient exam room, central video control rooms, 30 seat “smart” classroom, student computer workstations, conference room, supply/storage rooms, an office space and clerical workstations. The new Nursing Skills Lab supports pre-licensure courses that allows students to practice patient care procedures and skills in a simulated environment prior to performing these same procedures and skills in a hospital setting. The Men’s Locker Room was also renovated as part of this project.

STATE COLLEGE PARKING STRUCTURE 4/2007

State College Parking Structure contains 1513 spaces and is directly adjacent to the new Student Recreation Center. The structure is six levels in height with two interior ramps. The elevators at the southeast side delivers pedestrians onto a new mall north of the Titan Student Union.

AUDITORIUM AND FINE ARTS 1/2006

The Performing Arts Building Complex of approximately 102,000 gross square feet includes a 800 seat Concert Hall, a 250 seat Studio Theater, a 100 seat Black Box Theater, Scene Shop, Costume Shop, Dance Studio, Faculty Office, and other ancillary support spaces.

ARBORETUM VISITOR CENTER 2/2006

The project consists of a Conference Center of nearly 10,000 square feet including 3 classrooms, a museum, kitchen, an open air pavilion meeting area, and restrooms; a Maintenance Area including a new greenhouse and nursery building. Future projects will include: an Entrance Plaza with a retail sales area and exhibit space, upgraded parking lots, and site lighting, landscaping and irrigation.

KINESIOLOGY AND HEALTH SCIENCE (PE ADDITION) 11/2003

The addition of 70,995 gross square feet to the existing Physical Education building includes instructional, research and office space for the Kinesiology Department and lecture hall seating for 180 students. The project also includes an upper level practice gymnasium. Additionally, ADA compliant access to all new facilities and renovation to all affected landscaping.

STUDENT HOUSING EXPANSION 8/2003

This project added 440 beds in five four-story buildings. Each building contains 22 housing units consisting of four single-occupant bedrooms, a living room, dining area, kitchen and two bathrooms. Additionally, two small buildings were provided for administration and maintenance and existing common space, offices and maintenance space in or near Cypress Hall were remodeled. New landscaping completed this project.

HUMANITIES SEISMIC UPGRADE 11/2002

The existing building was seismically upgraded with the addition of new exterior shear walls. A new men's restroom that is fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act was constructed on the first floor. The scope of work also includes interior remodeling, renovation of the first floor elevator lobby, new ramps, sidewalks, and landscape improvements.

STUDENT HEALTH CENTER ADDITION 9/2002

This project provided an additional 8,300 gross square feet for the Student Health and Counseling Center. The free-standing building houses a 2,500 square foot Physical Therapy and Rehabilitative Medicine facility with a fully equipped treatment room and a hydrotherapy room, plus 3,000 square feet for Counseling and Psychological Services with private and group therapy space.

BALL FIELD IMPROVEMENTS 11/2000

A two-story clubhouse common to the baseball and softball fields were constructed to house locker rooms and coaches offices. An upper level multi-purpose room provides indoor and outdoor space for viewing both the baseball and softball diamonds. The primary softball field was realigned and new concrete dugouts, a press box and 1,000 permanent seats were added. Baseball gained 2,000 seats including true box seats.

EL DORADO RANCH RENOVATION 10/2000

Several improvements were made to the grounds of the University President's residence. A maintenance building and an adjacent trellis structure were constructed to house a workshop and storage space for landscape supplies and equipment. The existing three-story tower was structurally renovated and received a new roof, windows, electrical and mechanical systems.

LANGSDORF HALL SEISMIC UPGRADE 10/2000

Seismic upgrade of the nine-story administration building. The corners of the tower and two interior walls of the three-story east wing were reinforced. Additionally, the entire building was repainted and re-roofed, the first floor lobby was refurbished and new restrooms were added to meet ADA compliance. The plaza was reconstructed to include a fountain and extensive landscaping to welcome campus visitors.

TITAN HOUSE RENOVATION 9/2000

Historic renovation of an 1886 brick house to serve as administrative offices for the Athletic Department and the athletic ticket office. Careful attention was paid to maintaining the original details of the woodwork, doors, windows, and covered front porch. The project also included new HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, substantial seismic strengthening and ADA upgrades.
